Understanding Takeaways

Takeaways are Page's way of delivering relevant government activities directly to you. When a meeting, bill, news article, or other government activity matches one of your client's topics, Page generates a takeaway that includes a summary and explanation of why it matters.

What Are Takeaways?

A takeaway is a curated, AI-generated summary of government activity that's relevant to your client. Each takeaway includes:

  • Summary - A concise overview of the activity

  • Relevance explanation - Why this matters to your client

  • Key facts - Important details like date, government, and participants

  • Relevant excerpts - Specific sections that matched your topics

  • Source link - Direct access to the original content

How Takeaways Are Generated

Page continuously monitors government activities across all your configured sources. When content matches one of your client's topics, Page's AI analyzes the activity, generates a summary, and explains why it's relevant based on your topic context.

Understanding Relevance

How Page Determines Relevance

Page uses your topic configuration to determine relevance:

  1. Keyword matching - Content is scanned for your topic keywords

  2. Contextual analysis - For Smart match topics, Page's AI analyzes semantic meaning

  3. Relevance scoring - Page evaluates how strongly the content relates to your topics

  4. Explanation generation - Page generates a specific explanation of why this matters to your client

Relevance Explanations

Each takeaway includes a relevance explanation that tells you:

  • Which topic(s) triggered the takeaway

  • What specific content was relevant

  • Why this matters to your client based on the topic context

Improving Relevance

If you're getting too many irrelevant takeaways, or missing important ones, review and refine your topic configuration. Better keywords and context descriptions lead to better takeaway quality.
